After captivating the audience as Cara Dillon's support act at Stogumber Festival 2013, we just had to invite Darren Hodge back to perform this year.
Darren, a young man from Taunton, is regarded by his peers as one of the UK’s top up-and-coming young guitarists. After picking up his first instrument six years ago, at the age of just 12, Darren has been astounding audiences up and down the country with his ability and instrumental playing style.
In the past couple of years Darren has appeared with some of the world’s leading guitarists – including Tommy Emmanuel, Clive Carroll and Ben Hughes, all of whom see Darren as a future star. He is also endorsed by British guitar company Tanglewood Guitars, who had no hesitation in backing him once they heard him perform.
His first solo album The Road To Nashville includes no fewer than seven pieces composed by Darren himself. Last October he reached the final 10 of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2014, and intends to enter again in 2015.
At the start of 2014 Darren was signed to Bristol-based Jelli Records on a full management/recording contract, opening a new chapter in his career, playing in bigger venues, with invitations to perform all over the UK and supporting some of the top artists in the country.
