Norman Bowler comes to the Stogumber Festival to give us his reading of the poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge accompanied by Devon-based flautist Ruth Molins. He does these readings as part of his charity work to raise awareness and precious funds for a project in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, India at the Aikiyam School where he teaches English and drama. So we are very lucky to catch him as he now spends most of the year in India. Norman has had a long successful career in acting and many of you will be familiar with him from the BBC TV police drama, "Softly Softly" where he played Det. Chief Inspector Harry Hawkins and also from the ITV soap opera "Emmerdale" where he played Frank Tate.
